Why I don't blog for profit...

If you have been following my blog for any amount of time, you will notice that I tend to go through periods where I will do a few posts a month and other times will go a whole month without blogging at all. You see, I (like many of you) browse Pinterest for hours. I go on a pinning rampage and see all of these "perfect" homes all done "on a budget". I dream of my home looking like one of those photographs, yet after looking further into these posts, I notice just how much their "budget" is by no means a budget on my level! Many of these bloggers get paid for blogging. They have sponsors, get paid by advertisers, they receive free products to try, they are given free (or discounted) decor for their home to blog about to reach the general public. Those are all wonderful opportunities & I admire the bloggers who are able to make it a successful career.

For me, I choose not to blog for an income. There was once a time where my blog was generating a good amount of income. After a long wait period I was approved to be apart of the BlogHer team. I love BlogHer and it was a great opportunity, but it just wasn't realistic for me to be able to post once a week & continue to be apart of their program. I became stressed, trying to just be a Mom, keeping up with running my business, constantly creating new DIY projects and blogging about them along with all other daily tasks, there just wasn't enough time in a day. I noticed that I was neglecting what mattered most to me in life. Therefore I had to give it up. Who knows, maybe someday I will be able to get back to the level I was at, but for now I am content being a non-profit blogger.

I am a MOM first and foremost. Not saying that other bloggers aren't, I only have ONE child and barely have enough time to get the laundry done! Not to mention cleaning, making play dates, grocery shopping, running a business from home & making time in there for my Husband and friends. Blogging is on the last of my priority list. Those bloggers that can perfectly stage their home and create a blog post (or more) a week, build projects, take step by step photos, have immaculate organized pantries AND have multiple kids I greatly bow down! I really have no clue how you do it! (please tell me your secrets)

I am trying to be real and honest with you all. I may not be consistent with my blogging & my posts may be published with grammatical errors galore, but I am OK with that. I am by no means perfect, my home (to me) will never be perfect & is always ever changing. I blog because I want to share my ideas with you all. I blog because I hope to inspire one of you. I blog to share my life, my feelings, my thoughts and hopefully relate to my readers.

My blog will always be apart of me, but has currently taken more of a backseat in my life. I am thankful for the opportunities it has given me and the wonderful ladies/ friends that I have met through blogging. This post was in no way meant to discredit other bloggers, after all, bloggers are the ones who have inspired us all to better ourselves, our children, our homes & our life, plus if it wasn't for bloggers Pinterest would never exist! (we all wouldn't be able to live without that!)

This blog is my 1st "baby", I have given it many hours and late nights of love & labor. I thank each and every one of you who will read this. You are the reason that I blog.

Miss. M turns 2 - Nicole Guilck Photography

It's hard to believe that it was already time to have our baby girl's TWO year photos done!
Time, please just slow down a bit...
There was no doubt in my mind who I wanted to do these photos for us
& it was no other than the amazingly talented NICOLE GULICK PHOTOGRAPHY
The location couldn't have been more perfect, in an orange grove in Orange County, CA.
These were taken just before our move to Georgia & I am so grateful that we will have these to look back on and remember California, where our baby was born.
